Bio

In 2023, political and historical geographer Richard Nisa joined the IDeATe Program as the program lead in sustainability. His work has been published in Environment and Planning A, Radical History Review, the Journal of Historical Geography, and edited volumes including Algorithmic Life: Calculative Devices in the Age of Big Data and the Routledge Handbook of Critical Philanthropy and Humanitarianism. His current book project explores the transnational circulatory, political, and technological systems that constitute US-managed wartime detainment spaces. For the past year and a half, he has been the Chair of the Urban Geography Specialty Group of the American Association of Geographers.
